According to what the family and attorney know from Moore and the other victims, Buck was not interested in have sexual intercourse with them.  He paid Moore and other young Black gay men to do crystal meth specifically, wear specific types of underwear that he would photograph them in and to allow him to call them "nigger" and other racially slurs.

Is there an active homicide investigation?

Gemmel Moore's death was immediately classified as an accidental methamphetamine overdose by the coroner.  19 days later after Moore’s journal was publicly published and appeared in news reports, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s homicide bureau opened an investigation.

What did the coroner's autopsy report find?

The Los Angeles County coroner’s report says that Gemmel Moore died from an accidental methamphetamine overdose July 27 in the Laurel Avenue home of Ed Buck. The drug was injected into his body.   Police indicated that someone at the scene “is suspected to be known to exchange drugs for sex."

 

The report says that coroner’s investigators interviewed a woman, whose name is redacted, who said Moore told her that someone whose name is also redacted tied him up “over a year ago” and “held him against his will at the residence in West Hollywood.”

 

The report indicates that an investigator spoke with Moore’s mother.

According to the report, a coroner’s investigator found the following items in Buck’s two-bedroom apartment: 24 syringes with brown residue, five glass pipes with white residue and burn marks, a plastic straw with possible white residue, clear plastic bags with white powdery residue and a clear plastic bag with a “piece of crystal-like substance.”

 

What has Ed Buck been accused of by the other victims?

Other young gay black men have come forward with photos, emails, and text messages recounting similar stories involving Buck and accusing him of being a sexual predator, kidnapping, forced drug use, injecting unconscious black gay men with crystal meth, filing false police reports to cover his crimes, coercion, pimping, and pandering.

Why hasn't Ed Buck been arrested or charged?

Good question.  We can only assume it's his white privilege and political donations at play.
